We raise our Farmcraft Chicken from beginning to end in the most wholesome way possible. No medicated feed, drugs, chemicals or any other tomfoolery are used in raising our chickens, or anywhere on our farm. We provide clean water, organic forage and a super-premium 100% organic feed milled in Wisconsin. Our chickens are raised in 6 separate open-air shelters that provide ample space for each bird, and the shelters are moved each morning to fresh organic clover and grass pasture. Besides eating and drinking the organic feed and clean water we provide, the birds are able to scratch for bugs, dust bathe, sun bathe, relax in the shade and forage for plenty of living green vegetation to keep them vitally healthy. These chickens express the full range of their natural behaviors. It’s ethical, environmentally beneficial, and it makes for chicken that is remarkably healthful, nutritious, wholesome and truly notably delicious.

If you’re not, here are some thoughts to get you started.
Basic Cooking for a Farmcraft Pasture Raised Chicken
Slow Cooker - Place FROZEN chicken in slow cooker, breast side down. Cook on “Low” ~10 hours or “High” ~8 hours. Done when meat slips from leg bones.
Grill – Thaw. Butterfly or Spatchcock by cutting along backbone with knife or shears. Spread chicken open and place skin side up on grill. With all burners on low (or ~400F), grill for 1:00 – 1:30, until breast ~165F and Thighs ~190F.
Bake – Thaw. Butterfly as for grill, or leave uncut. Bake 400F for ~1:00 – 1:30. Goal is breast meat ~165F and Thigh/Leg Meat ~190F.
Save Bones for Bone Broth. Simply simmer or slow cook bones in water for 6 to 24 hours, then strain. Refrigerate or Freeze.
